About me...
I have lived in New Boston my whole life. I have recently moved to Goffstown but New Boston will always be my forever home. I was born and raised on a dairy farm with my parents, four older sisters, and a large number of pets. My mother was a teacher here at NBCS for over 15 years and all four of my sisters have chosen to teach at some point in their lives. Now my daughter has joined this tradition as well and is teaching second grade here at NBCS. She is affectionately known as Ms. G. Education was always an important part of our lives when we were little, and through our adult years. The love my mother had for children and teaching was one of the main reasons I chose to become a Teacher.
I began my professional teaching career right here at NBCS and have continued to teach here for twenty-eight years, only taking time off for 5 years to spend with my own children during their infant years. I have 3 beautiful, energetic children. All three of my children have attended New Boston Central School and received a fabulous education from my fellow co-workers.
My oldest son, Elijah attended Clarkson University. He is now an NDT test engineer for NORSK Titanium in Plattsburgh New York. He is absolutely loving his experience at NORSK, and is proud to be part of this amazing company. He has always been a person who loves to be challenged and always on a continuous path of learning. He loves skiing, fishing, science, and the outdoors.
My daughter Alexia, is on her second year of teaching right here at NBCS. She embraced last years challenges with grace and energy. This summer she spent time working at New Boston Central School, tutoring, and enjoying the sun! I am so excited and honored to be able to learn and work with my daughter.
My youngest son Caleb, is beginning his second year at Saint Josephs College in Standish Maine. He was part of the ski and lacrosse teams last year and is looking forward to a more "normal" season experience for both. Caleb is an athlete through and through. His passion for sports is immense and you can see it when he plays. He loves to be active. He spent his summer working for the Greener Company doing landscaping and stone work. He also spent the summer teaching himself how to play guitar and is beginning a very challenging project of fixing up a motor boat. I am so excited for Caleb and his many adventures.
We have two wonderful Dogs, Tuckerman and Rescue. Tuckerman loves to cuddle, run, go for walks, chase squirrels and birds and keep us laughing every day. Rescue is a big dog, with a big heart! He loves attention and will let you know if you are not giving him enough. He has a gentle soul and will melt the toughest heart. These two goofballs complete our family.
I love music, singing, sports, nature, gardening, animals, hugging, humor, and children.
My goal in the readiness classroom is to bring independence, the love of reading and writing, the love of learning and a love of school, to all the children I encounter. Learning through play is a large focus. I believe that if a child starts their first years of school loving every minute of their day, then they will continue to have success in their later years of schooling.
Thank you for sharing your children with me, I will enjoy watching them change and grow as they are developmentally ready.
Mission For The Class: Live, Love, LEARN, PLAY and laugh.....oh and don't forget to DANCE!
