Welcome to Readiness! This is such an exciting time for your child, and we know Back to School supplies are part of that excitement!
The school provides writing and art tools for our classroom learning, but it is a great idea to have some designated special school supplies for distance/at-home learning! If we learned anything from the pandemic it is that we should be prepared.
Here are some things your child will need for classroom learning:
1. Your child will need a backpack.
2. I will provide a plastic folder for your child on the first day of school. All papers, books, notices, and homework will be placed in this folder and sent home in your child’s backpack. This special homework folder is to be used for homework and any communication to and from school. This folder should come to and from school with your child every day.
3. A mask. Please be sure that your child’s first and last name is printed clearly on the outside of the mask. Your child should practice mask wearing and tracking. Please make a plan with your child on how to keep track of the mask. Some ideas may be to use a pocket, a lanyard, or a hat clip. Whatever becomes the plan, please have your child practice the routine. Your child should be comfortable with wearing a mask and fluid in keeping track of it so that enjoying learning can take place.
4.A spill proof and filled water bottle should come to school daily. On the hot days, you may want to pack two.
5.A snack and a snack drink. Please be sure that you pack snacks that your child will be able to open independently.
6.A lunch or a plan to have school lunch. If your child is bringing lunch to school, please be sure that your child knows what parts are for snack and what parts are for lunch.
7. Your child should have a change of clothes and an extra mask at all times in a plastic bag that will stay in his/her backpack. Accidents happen. Please remember to change this out seasonally and as they grow! And grow they do!
