Dear Parents,
What a wonderful Harvest Festival we had. Thank you so much to all those parents who were able to join us. You all worked so hard and made our day run so smoothly. Thank you so much! This week we will be talking all about apples and the apple life cycle. Today we made homemade applesauce. Some was plain, then we added sugar, then we added some cinnamon. We found out that the majority of us like our applesauce with cinnamon and sugar and few of us liked it with just sugar and a few of us liked it plain. We also tested different kinds of apples. We discussed the color, the texture and flavor of each of the apples and decide which our favorite was. It was clear the red delicious was the winner this time. We also welcome Eli Glover today to join our Teamwork Turtles. His first day was today and he found he had a lot of friends that he remembered. He was welcomed with open arms from all of us. Please find a new contact list in the plastic folder today with a few corrections and Eli Glovers information added. I had a few requests for the donut recipe so I will send that along this week for you to enjoy at home. If I borrowed a fat fryer from you, it is waiting for you in the classroom. Swing by and grab it when you have a minute. Halloween… the kids and I have made a plan to do a class costume this year. We are very excited about it. I have purchased the main part of the costume. I am looking for green hooded sweatshirts for each one of the kids. If you have a green hooded sweatshirt at home please let me know. What this means is that on our Halloween parade day the kids will not need their trick or treat costume. We will be marching in the parade as the Teamwork Turtles. I will keep you posted on more details as we get closer. I am enjoying this nice cool air. Have a great week. Ms. SAM |
