Good Afternoon,
What a great first day. Drop off and Pick up went smoothly. Our day in the classroom was fun filled and lots of learning happened. I know Wednesday kiddos went home pretty tired but with lots of excitement of their first day back. Cohort A you will find your remote learning assignments on my Website tomorrow morning under "remote learning" and assignments. Cohort B has their first in person day tomorrow. Remember drop off and pick up are always at door 4. If I have not heard from you regarding your child's afterschool plan please let me know so that I can help them have a safe and stress-free dismissal. On a piece of paper please put your child's last name and class. Then hang that somewhere in your car that can be easily seen by all the staff. This helps us radio ahead and have your child ready for you when you arrive at the door. Thank you for your help with this. I will not be greeting you at the drop off door tomorrow, but my friend Ms. Kjellander (the music teacher) will be there to make sure you make it safely to the classroom. I will be waiting in the classroom for you! Friday's Zoom. On Friday we will have a whole group zoom at 9am. You will need some items for this zoom as we will be following a "recipe for success" You will need: a large mixing bowl measuring cups Measuring spoons 8 index cards and a marker An adult helper You will also need 8 different ingredients to make this recipe. Hang in there this will get easier as we move forward. Ms. SAM I have put my opening letter here as well as on the home page so that it wouldn't be missed. Moving forward this will be where you will find classroom updates.
Hey there new friend! I am SO excited to begin our year’s adventure together! I have been busy at home, learning new ways to make learning fun! I have also been busy with my three kids, and two dogs, playing, working, and enjoying some much needed family time. We just got back from our yearly vacation in the woods of Maine. We head to our family spot on Shin Pond and go back to a very simple life and spend time with lots of family. I hope you are having some wonderful adventures as well. I can’t wait to hear all about them when we meet! Our adventures in the readiness room will be endless! We will become readers, writers, authors, mathematicians, scientists, performers, friends and most importantly a family. I am so excited to meet you I could burst! This year will begin differently and I know that brings up many questions for families. I am really looking forward to getting to know you BEFORE the start of this school year. The first part of this getting to know you starts with a task for your parent or guardian. I would like your parents or gaurdians to write a letter me. Parents and Guardians, nobody knows your child better than you do. I would absolutely love you to write me a letter introducing your child. You can email it to me at [email protected] You might want to include a brief biography, problems, special abilities, fears, strengths, weaknesses, and past school experiences. What does your child love to do? What are your child’s feelings about school? What does your child wish to learn this year? What do you wish for your child to learn this year? I’d love to hear about your child’s favorite toys and activities, and I’d also like to know about the things that your child finds challenging. Include any information that you want me to keep in mind while I work with your child. Part two of getting to know you is a ZOOM call. After I receive your emailed letter, I’ll email you back to set up a ZOOM call with you and your child. That way, we can meet before school starts, I can give you a virtual tour of the classroom, and we can have some ZOOM fun together. You can also visit my website http://readinessrocks.weebly.com/. Explore the tabs to learn about our classroom. The nuts and Bolts and School Supplies tabs will be a great place to start. I am sure you are wondering what you can do to get yourself ready for this exciting new school year. So, I’ll tell you the secret: all you will need is a backpack big enough to carry your papers and special treasures that you will work hard for here at school. You will also need an extra set of clothes and a spare mask in a labelled zip lock bag, and a lunch box. You will also need a mask that you are comfortable wearing. I will have everything else here in our classroom for you! How cool! I will be giving you a plastic folder which will be your very own responsibility to bring back and forth to school each day; our first step in learning responsibility. This is so exciting! I hope you are ready to soar through our year, learning, playing and making friends. Readiness is where our adventure begins. With love, Ms. Sam P.S.- I will be so excited to see you on Wednesday September 9th for our first day of school. If your parents have any questions they can reach me at [email protected] P.P.S- If you are able and willing to help with supplies for our classroom, visit our website under “Wish List” for all of the crazy supplies we will need to help us through the year! Yay! http://readinessrocks.weebly.com/ See you soon new friend! (I can’t wait!!) |
