Good Morning Fearless Falcons Brrr its a little chilly out there. It is supposed to warm up though so make sure to get outside today. In fact here is your first assignment. I have been busy working on our Web Page. I am starting a learning gallery. You will find this page in the drop down menu of the remote learning tab. The first assignment is for your parents. Please send me an email giving me permission to post your pictures on our Web Page. If you do not want the pictures posted please tell me that as well, but I would still love to see what you are up to. Then while you are outside playing, exploring, creating, what ever you are doing outside, send me a picture and I will post it on our Page. This will give us all a chance to see what everyone is doing. LANGUAGE ARTS Next.... Please go to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKaQXmRvpvw or click the direct video link below. This is Sean Astin reading to you the story Bad Case of Stripes. I loved listening to him read this morning. After you have listened to the story, talk with your family about Camilla's problem. Choose if it's a big problem or a little problem and explain why. We all know problems can feel different sizes for all of us. After discussing Camilla's problem and the size of her problem. Make a list of some of your problems. Once you have made a list sort them and post them on two papers. One paper for big problems and one paper for small problems. You can add to these lists as well when you encounter a problem. Once you are finished make a list of strategies that you and your family can use to help when you encounter a big problem or a little problem. Post these somewhere in your work space so that you can use it as a tool. You can use the size of the problem resource tool you will find below. Next.... Camilla was not being true to herself. Have you ever felt like Camilla and changed to please others. Write to me about a time when this might have happened to you or to someone you know. Have your family send me a picture of it. Finally.... Draw me a picture of you and what you might look like if you had a bad case of the worries. Draw how your worry would make you look. Don't forget all the details in your drawing. Have your family send me a picture of it. Now I have a another mission for you. At school we had times when we could take a break, go for a walk, get a drink, if we needed a moment to get our brain and body back ready to learn. I would like you to create a spot at home where you can go to safely take a break. This cozy corner will have rules and tools that are specific for this spot. Make the cozy corner together with your family and agree on the rules and tools. Below you will find some rules and tools that might be helpful to you. MATH Please collect for the number 7 today using the number 7 page in the number collection booklet I sent yesterday. Teach your parents how to play garbage. The rules I am sending you are a little different, but I know you are all flexible thinkers and will adjust very well. This will also challenge you to play with more than 8 cards and more than a single partner. Garbage rules: https://kidactivities.net/garbage-card-game-rules/ Movement Below you will find a link to a Star Wars yoga movement video. Have fun and may the force be with you! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BEPxPkQY6V8 BREAK SPOT AND SIZE OF THE PROBLEM RESOURCE See attached resources below!
